Back to School with Essential Oils day 4- Goodnight, Sleep Tight!

 



When children don’t get the sleep they need, both physical and emotion development can be negatively affected. The necessity for regular, healthy sleeping patterns is apparent when one considers the serious difficulties and disorders caused by lack of sleep. Heading back to school with well rested kids will make for a smoother transition for all. 🙂

In our home our sleep has been impacted, for the better, by adding essential oils into our evening routine. The girls get sleep oils on their feet before bed and we diffuse in their room throughout the night. Then I use my own sleep blend, take Serenity softgels, and diffuse essential oils. This combination helps me fall asleep, stay asleep, and wake up feeling like I slept deeper.

Below are ways you can use essential oils to promote restful sleep in your home.


Sleepy Time Rollerball for kids
In a 10ml rollerball add:
2 drop Lavender
2 drop Cedarwood
2 drop Balance
Fill the remainder with fractionated coconut oil
Roll on feet & big toe before bed.
*adjust drops per dilution ratio based on kids age, size, and needs

Bad Dream Diffuser Blend: 
2 drops Lavender
3 drops Juniper Berry
Diffuse in the bedroom throughout the night.


Sleep-Promoting Bath Recipe:
Add a few drops of Lavender or Serenity essential oil to 1 Cup Epson Salts; dissolve in hot bath.
Epson salt is a great source of Magnesium, which support relaxations.


My Personal Favorite Sleep Rollerball for adults:
In a 10ml Rollerball add:
10-20 drops Serenity
10-20 drops Cedarwood
10-20 drops Vetiver
10-20 drops Balance
Fill the remainder with fractionated coconut oil
Rub on feet & toe before bed…. enjoy a restful sleep 🙂

3 drops Juniper Berry
3 drops Balance
3 drops Vetiver
3 drops Patchouli
3 drops Ylang Ylang
Fill the remainder with fractionated coconut oil
Rub on feet and back of the neck before bed.
*adjust drops per dilution ratio based on kids age, size, and needs

Sleep Rollerball Recipe #3 for adults:
In a 10ml Rollerball add:
15 drops Lavender
10 drops Vetiver
8 Roman Chamomile
5 drops Frankincese
5 drops Ylang Ylang
5 drops Wild Orange
Fill the remainder with fractionated coconut oil
Rub on feet and back of the neck before bed.
*adjust drops per dilution ratio based on kids age, size, and needs
